Where Is Hudayriyat Island?

Hudayriyat Island sits just off the southwest coast of central Abu Dhabi, directly opposite the Al Bateen area. It's connected to the mainland by its own dedicated bridge — the Hudayriyat Bridge — which puts it within easy reach of Downtown Abu Dhabi and the emirate's main road network.

Modon Properties, the island's master developer, has built it out as a combined sports, leisure and residential destination. The island opened to the public in November 2020 and has grown steadily since, now home to cycling and running tracks, the 321 Sports complex, Surf Abu Dhabi's wave pool, Blue Flag-certified beaches, and a growing collection of residential communities including Bashayer, Al Naseem, Nawayef and Hudayriyat Golf Estates.

Getting there

Most visitors and residents reach Hudayriyat Island by car via the Hudayriyat Bridge, with Downtown Abu Dhabi, the Corniche and Al Bateen all a short drive away. There's currently no dedicated public transport line onto the island, so a car, taxi or rideshare is the practical option.

For buyers weighing Hudayriyat Island against other Abu Dhabi locations, this proximity to the city center — while still offering a self-contained island lifestyle — is one of its clearest advantages. Get in touch if you'd like to talk through what that means for a specific community or commute.
